Manchester United make Hakan Calhanoglu enquiry with 'bidding war' expected

Manchester United have made a move for Inter midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu ahead of a likely bidding war. WHAT HAPPENED? Journalist Orazio Accomando claims United have entered the bidding for the player, with rival interest from Fulham and Galatasaray. There have also been enquiries from Saudi Arabia. THE BIGGER PICTURE Inter are said to be asking for €40m, which may price Galatasaray out of a move. Calhanoglu would like to join the Turkish club but will have to consider other options. DID YOU KNOW? Calhanoglu made 47 appearances for Inter last season as they reached the Champions League final and finished runners-up to Napoli in Serie A.
